Greetings, lovely K/1 parents! We have had a fun week in The Hive and have accomplished so much this week! I want to share some upcoming dates with you and what we will be focusing on next week.
Coming Up:
Friday, April 22nd: Spring Pictures. All kindergarten students will get these, but they are optional for first graders. If you have a first-grader and want your child to get pictures, please let me know so I can make a list of students.
Friday, May 6th: Mom's Day CAFE in The Hive from 2:00-2:45. Mother, Grandmother, Auntie, or a Special Lady will join our busy bees in our cafe (save the date (; ).
Saturday, May 14th:Sonshine Auction 6:30 PM (we need gift cards to make our special gift card frame). Thank you!
Thursday, June 2nd: Zoo Field Trip (save the date if you'd like to volunteer).
Tuesday, June 7th: Father's Day Field Day from 10:30-12:30. Father, Grandfather, Uncle, or a Special Dude will join us for field day fun in Klineline Park! (Any mom/grandma volunteers to run games would be lovely!)
Friday, June 10th: Last Day, Kindergarten Graduation at 10:00 am, School Program (details to come).
The math minute this week is counting by fives, adding ten to numbers (ex: 14, 24, 34, 44, 54, 64, 74, 84, 94; 12, 22, 32, 42, 52, 62, 72, 82, 92, etc). We will be focusing on two-digit addition and subtraction this week.
Coming Up in Reading: We will be reading "Whistle for Willie" by Ezra Jack Keats. We will have a supplemental text, "Pet Poems" and focus on the vowel digraph: "oo" as in the work "cook".
Our Bible focus for next week will be "sharing". Our Bible verse:
