Friday, June 10th: Last Day, Kindergarten Graduation at 10:00 am, School Program. We will be reciting Psalm 23 of the New King James version. Please be working on this at home. We will memorize a little bit at a time.
We have a lot to cover in the weeks ahead! This week in math we will be subtracting tens, counting back by tens, and relating addition and subtraction of tens. We will also be making and reading bar graphs as well as comparing lengths of objects. The math minute will be looking for graphs in everyday life (making a graph of "favorites" would be an excellent family activity, but may take more than a minute) and comparing the lengths of objects. Our theme this week will be "friends and family". In Bible we will focus on "Caring for Others" and begin learning the first part of Psalm 23:
1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
Coming up in Reading:
Highlights from our week!
The students enjoyed a chapel presentation from Children's Evangelical Fellowship!
The students enjoyed a chapel presentation from Children's Evangelical Fellowship!
The bees glued sight words in the journals, wrote sentences including them, and sketched pictures matching their sentences.
Sammy made a fabulous Star of the Week and we learned more about our friend!
The bees love reading!
And playing!
And making graphs too!
We had some very special visitors on Friday! Students who will be in kindergarten next year joined us for a a Kinder-Camp day. We listened to stories, did calendar corner activities, sang songs, did math centers (including counting on our interactive board), made a craft, had recess and ate cookies together! The kinder-bees were wonderful hosts while the firsties had a taste of second grade with Mrs. Jones. So much fun!!!
Mrs. Warner is teaching the Sonshine kids a very special song!
Have a blessed week! Thank you for all of your support!
