Reminders & Highlights!

Greetings, magnificent K/1 parents! It has been a busy week in The Hive and there's lots to share!

Auction Reminder from Mrs. Warner:
Be sure to get your auction tickets soon for $15.00 each or reserve a table of 8 for $120.00 and reserve childcare for $5.00 per child (Child care space is limited!!) If you are turning in donations, we would love to have them as early in the week next week as possible, as we are working on getting bid sheets done and baskets put together.

Summer Daycare Reminder from Brooke Warner:

As the end of the year is quickly approaching, we are preparing to get our summer attendance lists in order.  The daycare provides a summer care program for school agers, that includes fun and engaging activities and field trips.  If you have a school age student who will be needing summer care, please let us know, as these spots are very limited.
Prices are determined on the care required.
Please e-mail Brooke at sonshinedaycare@gmail.com to make sure your student has a spot.
We are looking forward to the fun in the sun, and we want to make sure that we know who will be joining us through the summer months.

Saturday, May 14th: Sonshine  Auction & Dinner 5:30 PM (we still need just a few gift cards to make our special gift card frame). Thank you for the gift cards that have come in, it means so much!!! They will really help to sell our frame! (:

Thursday, June 2nd: Zoo Field Trip (save the date if you'd like to volunteer). Field-trip forms have gone home, please let me know if you need one. I have had some come in, thank you!

Tuesday, June 7th: Father's Day Field Day from 10:30-12:30. Father, Grandfather, Uncle, or a Special Dude will join us for field day fun in Klineline Park! (Any mom/grandma volunteers to run games would be lovely!)

Friday, June 10th: Last Day, Kindergarten Graduation at 10:00 am, School Program. We will be reciting Psalm 23 of the New King James version. Please be working on this at home. We will memorize a little bit at a time. PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL IN A WHITE T-SHIRT ON THIS DAY. (: The white t-shirts will be important to our big show!

Please and thank you:

If you can, please send your child with a water bottle that closes easily and efficiently. We do have a water fountain, but with a water bottle, our drink breaks can be quick and students have a chance to drink a little more than they would on a fast break and be more hydrated during the day.

Thank you for being on time to school! Most of the busy bees are here on time everyday and it is so appreciated!

While we don't have much of the school year left, we are in desperate need of glue sticks and hand sanitizer. If you could choose one of those to donate to our class, that would be lovely! Also, e will be doing a STEM activity soon that involves cardboard tubes. If you could bring toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls, I'd be ever-so-grateful!

Coming up in Reading:

In math we will be working on more graphing, and relating addition and subtraction of tens. Please use your math minute to work on counting, counting by tens, adding tens (12, 22, 23, 3, 43, 53, 63, and so on) and telling time, something we continue to practice in class. In Bible we will be focusing on the theme of Giving.

Our verse this week is Psalm 23:3:

He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
